We can’t control everything in publishing but we can understand it. Knowing how it all fits together helps to set realistic expectations, ask the right questions, and respond with resilience to make informed decisions about your career.

Join us as literary agent Sara Megibow unpacks what actually drives profit potential in traditional publishing. Distribution, formats, subsidiary rights, and publicity all play a role into how many books ultimately reach readers and each of these is heavily influenced by genre and platform. A debut romantasy and a nonfiction picture book have very different pathways, for example.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A so please bring questions.
This webinar will be great for:

  • Writers who are actively querying
  • Debuts with a book deal on the horizon
  • Published authors curious about what happens to your book next
  • Writers weighing traditional versus hybrid or indie-publishing
  • Anyone who wonders what happens after a contract is signed

Bonus: Participants will have a submission opportunity with Sara following the event!
