Hello everyone! This week is full of wonderful events. If you are trying to stay away from the SXSW crowd then head out to one of the local bookstores and support writers, authors, and poets. The week is full of readings and signings. There is something for everyone. Go out and engage in the Austin book world.

Friday, March 20 at 7p.m. There is going to be A Literary Situation at Malvern Books. This event will include poet, Steve Roggenbuck, who will be reading from his newest release, Book of Stories. Also scheduled to read are readers/performers Lizzy Ball, Wallace Barker, Rachel Bell, Chris Dankland, Lesley Dixon, Michael Gomez, No Glykon, Davis Land, Oliver Mol, and Pepito Wheezy.
Saturday, March 21 at 2p.m. Malvern books is having The Lion & Pirate Unplugged. This event is open to adults and children of all ages. The night will consist of an open mic, minus the mic for musicians, performers, and writers to share and perform their work.
Monday, March 23 at 7p.m. There is going to be an evening of dialogue at Book Woman. The night will consists of three women and their spiritual paths. The three women include: Prema Dasara, Heatherash Amara, and Suzanne Mccanna. The three will be speaking about their passed and how they have spiritually gotten to the place they are at today.
Tuesday, March 24 at 7p.m. Book People is pleased to welcome bestselling author, Emily Giffin will be speaking and signing her novel The One & Only, a novel about love, family life, marriage, and friendship. Some of Giffins’ other novels include Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, Love the One You’re With, Heart of the Matter, and Where We Belong.
Wednesday, March 25 at 7p.m. Book People is going to be having one of their famous book clubs. This weeks book club is Hard Word Book club, which is a group of individuals who get together to discuss stories with tough guys and dangerous women. The book being discussed this week is The Magdalen Martyrs by Ken Bruen.
Thursday, March 26 at 7p.m. Susan Cain is going to be center of the Book Woman discussion that is held every 4th Thursday of the month. This months discussion will be over “quiet.” Cain makes the argument that introverts in the world are often times given negative connotations, but that should not be the case. Introverts should be celebrated and appreciated in the world.
This Week at The Writing Barn: On March 25 Natalia Sylvester will be going The Writing Barn for Words and Wine Wednesday to speak and read from her latest novel Chasing The Sun over a little bit of wine and cheese.
