Your Wedding at The Writing Barn
Have you been searching for a unique wedding venue? One that offers amenities but where you can also create a ceremony and reception to suit your particular style?
Say “I Do,” under sprawling oak trees, twinkling lights, and a custom crystal chandelier. Have a spring wedding among the bluebonnets, or a festive fall event outside in the beautiful and cool Texas weather.
Or choose a more traditional banquet theme and rent out Buddha Hall, our largest indoor space. With its unique lighting, large windows, and urban rustic interior, it’s perfect for an indoor Hill Country style wedding, all while still being close to downtown Austin.
Following the ceremony, guests can mingle among the wildflowers and frolicking deer, or inside the Party Porch and Library for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Set up tents over our large riding ring and turn it into a dance floor, or set up food trucks and a bar to cater your wedding in true Austin fashion.
The Writing Barn is a hidden Austin gem. Our 7.5 acres provides a Hill Country feel, without leaving Austin and if you happen to love all things literary: The Writing Barn, it’s bookshelves, and book accents help to invoke the power of the page at every turn.
As an indoor/outdoor rental facility, we are most suitable for hosting weddings in the 50-175 guest range. Ceremonies and/or receptions may be held inside our elegant banquet hall or outdoors under the live oaks where a chandelier and party lights are hung year round.
Looking for a more intimate event? The Barn library and Party Porch (complete with floor to ceiling bookshelves, full galley kitchen, loft area, and private bath) are perfect for a close gathering of friends and family. There is also a large riding ring perfect for outdoor dining, whether tented or open.
You may provide your own catering and licensed bartenders. We follow city sound ordinances, but we do have speakers upon request. Property can also be made available for pre-wedding photos upon request.
