Friday, February 20 at 7p.m. Book People is having a reading and signing by author of The Thorn of Dentonhill, Marshall Ryan Maresca. Maresca will be reading from his latest novel about a young man who has to figure about balancing magic and his night life. Join Maresca to find out how he does it.
Saturday, February 21 at 7p.m. There is going to be a Fun Party with Noah Eli Gordon, Lisa L. Moore and Ryan Bender-Murphy at Malvern Books. Each of these wonderful authors will be reading from their latest pieces. Gordon will be reading from his latest, The Word KINGDOM in the Word Kingdom. Moore will be reading some of her latest poetry. Murphy will be reading form his latest poetry book First Man on Mars.
Sunday, February 22 at 4p.m. Author of Just Mercy, Dorothy Van Soest will be talking about her book and the death penalty. Book Woman is glad to be having this wonderful author speak about Just Mercy and all of the things that inspired the book. Just Mercy is about the unlikely relationship that a mother forms with her daughters murderer who is about to be executed. Join Book Woman and Van Soest in a discussion about the death penalty.
Monday, February 23 at 7p.m. I Know I am But What are you? by Samantha Rae is this months Stand up Sit Down book club discussion piece at Book People. If you are into comedy and literature you will enjoy this book club that meets every last Monday of the month at Book People where they discuss comedic literature and memoirs of funny people.
Tuesday, February 24 at 7p.m. Malvern Books is inviting you to join them for an evening with writer and author of the newly released novel The Umbrella Mending, Christine Fischer Guy. Before the reading the night will begin with music from Harold Whit Williams & Jon Bookout. This is a free event for anyone interested.
Wednesday, February 25 at 7p.m. Book People will be having their Hard Word Book Club. Every last Wednesday of the month Chris and Scott host this book club. This months book for discussion is Trouble in the Heartland by author Joe Clifford. Go check out this book club and see if it’s something you might want to join. Also today at Book People There is going to be a celebration honoring the Austin Chronicle Short Story Winners of 2014. This even starts at 7p.m.
Thursday, February 26 at 7p.m. Malvern Books is having their W. Joe’s Poetry Corner in which W. Joe Hoppe interviews a poet. This weeks Poetry Corner will feature poet, Ash Smith. After W. Joe Hoppe does his interview with Smith, she will do a reading and then gladly answer any questions from the audience. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet a wonderful poet.
