About the Instructor:
Realistically, Rebekah Manley’s MFA in Children’s Literature might help her write the books, but her BA in Communications & Public Relations helps her sell them. When launching Alexandra and the Awful, Awkward, No Fun, Truly Bad Dates: A Picture Book Parody for Adults, Bekah put her PR degree to work! She felt energized in creating press releases and media kits to attract personalized publicity. Empowered by the process, Rebekah harnessed her skills and amazing team to launch Love, Bekah—her greeting card company for women.
Since the fall of 2015, she’s mentored and utilized over 25 interns to launch her blog, book and business. For eight years, Rebekah ran the Texas Center for the Book and continues to nurture literary partnerships and writers by teaching workshops online and across the United States. She now knows “authors, whether they like it or not, are small business owners.” And seeks to equip writers, business owners and big dreamers with valuable tools so they may succeed.
