Join editor Anna (Sargeant) Luketic for a webinar that explores how writers can use tension to build engaging picture books that stand out!
Do you want your readers to eagerly turn each page of your picture book? To never get bored with your characters? To feel super satisfied by the end? Then you need tension in your picture books.
Whether writing fiction or nonfiction, commercial/high-concept or quiet/ contemplative, tension is what keeps the reader going. Join this Writing Barn webinar to find out how to turn your sluggish story into a high-stakes read, no matter what your subject matter is!

About the Instructor:
Anna (Sargeant) Luketic is an editor of nonfiction children’s books at Sourcebooks eXplore. She was previously an editor and art director at B&H Publishing. Anna holds a degree in K-8 education with a mathematics concentration from California State University, Long Beach. She has worked in schools, non-profits, and freelance. As an elementary school teacher, Anna fell in love with children’s literature and has been obsessed ever since. She studied writing for children under Liz Garton Scanlon, and she teaches and critiques through various organizations, such as SCBWI, Inked Voices, and the Writing Barn. Anna grew up in Southern California, lived for a short stint near Nashville, and has spent most of her adult life in Austin, Texas. When she’s not at her desk, you might find her at the barre studio, at the theater, on a plane, on a walk, or at a local restaurant with friends, hopefully eating chips and guacamole.
