Join author Tammi Sauer for a Craft Webinar that’s all about creating fun, read-aloud picture books!

Picture books are meant to be shared. In this session, Tammi will explore a variety of strategies (refrains, humor, direct address, and many more!) that can help writers to create fun read-alouds that capture the attention of little listeners and get them actively engaged in the book-sharing experience as well.

Some of Tammi’s book reviews:

Knock Knock (Scholastic Press)

“Saturated colors, animated characters, and silly jokes will ensure repeated readers. An appealing read-aloud choice on hibernation and friendship.” — School Library Journal

A Little Chicken (Union Square)

“ . . . the effortless prose rises above, as it is concise, well-timed, and entertaining. A gently humorous take on conquering fear that’s also a fine read-aloud.”—Kirkus

Lovebird Lou (Union Square)

“This entertaining picture book would be a wonderful read-aloud and discussion starter for early grade schoolers. The bright and colorful illustrations sparkle with humor, and many young readers will readily identify with Lou’s identity crisis.” —Kirkus

No Bunnies Here! (Doubleday Books for Young Readers)

“A laugh-out-loud book. . . . Comical dialogue lends itself superbly for reading aloud at story time, expertly complemented by Burach’s humorously detailed and brightly colored spreads. . . . A sweet story with a hop-pily ever after.”—School Library Journal
