Are you a writer or artist looking for a peaceful space to create? Are you a recently graduate or between careers? The Writing Barn is looking for an artist-in-residence and land keeper to reside on the Writing Barn property in Austin, Texas!
This is a year-long commitment that includes housing, stipend, and access to Writing Barn programming—PLUS, the creative energy of a workshop/retreat space and the cultural opportunities that the city of Austin affords.

A residency at The Writing Barn has been valuable by providing a balance of interaction with other creative minds and solitude with nature when needed. There is opportunity on this beautiful property to seek out seclusion for centering self and focusing on creative works as much as the social spectrum of finding other lively and driven positive creatives. It has been a wonderful experience to live and work at The Writing Barn.
Duties include: housekeeping between retreats, classes and events, property showings to prospective customers, and helping with event management as needed. The position begins June 1, and we are open to discussing an earlier start date.
